Creating Customisations at SSF

SSF works on a 3 R ideology to achieve sustainability and luxury in their lifestyle products.

  • First comes Reuse which implies reusing waste materials from the textile industry and MLP (multi-layer packaging) plastic waste. We also reuse natural materials like jute & cotton.
  • Next up is Reviving the lost tradition of weaving charpais, which were a significant piece of Indian culture and design.
  • Lastly, we aim to Recognise the abilities and talents of their women artisans and help us achieve their full potential.

Recently, we have introduced many new designs in our collection which fit the requirements and spaces of a modern consumer. This, thus, expands our R ideology to now include, Revolutionization.

  • Revolutionization involves the application of unique design and functionality features, combined with a traditional weaving approach. Many of our latest customised products are embodiments of the beauty of Revolutionization.
Furniture Customisation : Mum’s Love Daybed
A lovingly modified version of the traditional charpai bed.
  • It has been specially customised for one of our client’s mothers, to provide the utmost level of comfort and relaxation.
  • Woven with classic colours using textile waste and natural jute fibre, it gives a homely feeling, with a pinch of nostalgia.
  • What’s better is that this product reuses upto 6 kgs of waste material which translates to 22.2 kgs of reduced carbon emissions!

Home Accessories: Macrame Screen Dividers
Creating the perfect work-life balance from the comfort of your home.
  • Macrame is a unique form of textile design produced by knotting as opposed to weaving or spinning. It was originally used by sailors before it entered the space of fashion. Macrame peaked in popularity during the Victorian era when it was largely used to make wall hangings and accessories.
  • Taking inspiration from the designs and styles in those times, SSF brings back macrame with a 21st century and most importantly, Corona compliant, twist!
  • By combining the macrame style of knotting with the age-old screen divider, we hope to introduce a  home accessory that can bring a vintage appeal to any modern space.
  • The Macrame Screen Divider has been especially designed for the current work-from-home environment wherein one can use this to create a petite professional space, even at home, and get that precious work-life balance just right.

Home Accessories: Toshi Metal Rack
Combining functional designs with traditional weaves
  • This rack was our first attempt at a standing storage structure, of this size, and we think it turned out beautifully. The design was requested by a loving customer.
  • At SSF, we love tributing our customised products to the clients who requested for them. We make it a norm to name it after them as a small thank-you. So, if you notice any human-like names on any of our products, almost every time there will be an actual human behind them!
  • The Toshi Metal Rack is no exception to this norm and features two shelves woven from upcycled plastic waste plus an additional wooden shelf for storing goodies on the heavier side, on a strong iron frame.
  •  Why we love this: Colourful-vibrant, functional-unique & luxe-sustainable!
